Chelsea S. Reed, B.S.

Communication Strategist Advisor/Marketing Consultant

Chelsea S. Reed, B.S.

Chelsea S. Reed, founder of Sparrow Reed Communications, doesn’t just manage messaging—she builds bridges. As a public relations and storytelling strategist rooted in the world of education and community, she helps schools, nonprofits, and advocacy groups translate big ideas into human-centered narratives that spark connection, action, and change.

With a background steeped in education, community and family engagement, she specializes in moments where trust matters most—when voices feel left out and resources or initiatives that can help breathe life into a community need to be amplified. Her work lives at the intersection of clarity and care, championing families, educators, and students as experts in their own stories.
Whether partnering with schools, advocacy groups, EdTech platforms, or broader initiatives focused on equity, youth opportunity, and public voice, she brings a rare blend of emotional intelligence, strategic clarity, and cultural fluency.

She’s especially skilled at navigating complex or high-stakes communication moments—helping leaders speak with authenticity and designing outreach that connects across lines of difference. At every level, her work is about making sure people feel seen, heard, and respected—and ensuring their stories help move awareness into a positive direction of action.

She has more than 20 years of experience in the public relations and marketing fields, including strategic communications, messaging, brand development, project management, media relations, media coaching, and more.

By leveraging genuine storytelling, Chelsea humanizes brands, inspires hope, and transforms abstract concepts into relatable, compelling messages with lasting results. She's organized, quick on her feet, and a creative problem solver. Her effort has consistently transformed and expanded marketing and communications for several organizations in Indianapolis. However, her reach also extends beyond the city, including USA Today, NBC Nightly News, New York Times, NPR, Yahoo! News, Urban One (Radio One), Chalkbeat, and more. Her work has even garnered a Great Lakes Regional Emmy® Awards nomination for a reporter she partnered with.

Reed has worn many hats and intersections of her identity often help her genuinely connect. Her goal is supporting the community and helping to amplify issues that do the same, especially for youth and pockets of the community that are often unsupported.

Reed earned her bachelor’s degree from Franklin College with a double major in news-editorial and public relations & advertising, with a minor in marketing for not for profit organizations.
